Parasol Goes Nuclear
Parasol to include Nuclear industry
We're delighted to announce that we've now upgraded our Professional Indemnity cover to include contractors working in the Nuclear industry
This latest industry sector to be covered by our award winning umbrella service will bring huge benefits to agencies, end clients and industry workers alike. Those working within almost all areas of the nuclear industry can now take advantage of inclusive cover via Parasol’s Umbrella service.
This new addition further strengthens and widens the coverage that Parasol has previously provided across multiple industry sectors for over 8 years. Specific nuclear workers now have access to the same high level £21m insurance protection that all other Parasol employees enjoy, which includes;
- £6m Professional Indemnity
- £5m Public Liability
- £10m Employers Liability
Parasol’s Head of Commercial Strategy, Marc Morris, commented:
“Those working in the nuclear sector can often find insurers quick to signal danger when working in such an industry. Whilst it may be perceived as dangerous, the contractor’s role should not be overshadowed by the nature of the provider’s business.
The reality is that most contractors are never in any danger or exposed to harmful environments. Parasol carefully records sufficient data at registration in order that insurance brokers are able to offer inclusive cover to nuclear industry contractors without exclusions or conditions.”
Industry Growth
The Government’s recent go ahead for a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK has meant that Parasol are in a crucial position to provide their services to agencies and contractors working in this growth industry. The only exceptions to this are workers who are in danger of exposure to radiation during the course of their work.
In addition to accepting nuclear industry workers, Parasol’s insurers will now accept Onshore Oil and Gas workers, Electricians, Fitters, Joiners, Manufacturing Engineers and Plumbers.
