Back in the late 1990s, Rob Crossland (now our leader here at Parasol), was busy making a very good living as a contractor working in IT.
He loved absolutely everything about the freelancing way of life, except one thing - the time-consuming hassle involved in running what was effectively a one-man business. Invoicing, tax, NI, ensuring payments were in line with HMRC regulations and ever-changing legislation - he hated it all with a passion!
So, like many entrepreneurs, he turned that magical mix of frustration and passion into a business opportunity and in 2000 founded Parasol. In the last 9 years Parasol has grown into an award winning PAYE umbrella company that specialises in taking away the hassle of freelancing for 32,000 contractors working across all kinds of businesses.
With over 100 dedicated staff based at our head office in Warrington, we diligently take care of all our contractor employees’ invoicing to agencies or direct clients, sort out their PAYE, tax and VAT payments and ensure they get the most tax-efficient net take home pay after deductions.
To do this, we make sure we recruit talented people with technical expertise in accountancy, legal issues, payroll and customer service. We invest heavily in training and developing our people, who regularly go above and beyond the call of duty to provide superb customer service.
