Acas boosts popular online resource
Posted on 30 April 2008
Following feedback from customers and users, the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas) is revamping its website to provide better employment guidance services to employers and employees and HR professionals.
Among the new features being offered by the independent public agency, the updated website offers users the option of signing up to free quarterly newsletters keeping people up to date on changes to employment legislation and employment relations developments.
On the back of three million visits to the website in 2007, a research report claimed that the advisory functions of the Acas online resource and its publications section benefit the UK economy to the tune of £32 million.
John Taylor, Acas chief executive said: "Making our resources accessible and easy to find creates strong benefits for local businesses.
"Using our expertise, we have been able to add to what is already a very valuable website, helping organisations large and small save time and money."
He added that from maternity leave to bullying or equality training, the Acas website is a key resource for helping managers to deal more effectively with people issues.
