New network site puts freelancers in the know
Posted on 31 March 2008
A new social networking site is set to give independent entrepreneurs a virtual foot in the door of the business world.
UnLtdWorld is a Facebook-style forum which allows freelance, contract and other independent businesses or community organisations to pool ideas and share resources with other like-minded people both locally and around the globe, Contractor UK reports.
Spokesperson Rachel Slade tells the website: "It ranges from a general public better engaging with their local community to informing research, from supporting [ ] market research to helping organisations [ ] better target their areas of operation."
The site will also provide potential sourcing for those looking to recruit, outsource or exchange services to further their own business initiatives.
Features of the site include the familiar 'wall post' format found on sites such as MySpace, a 'shout box' allowing visitors to contribute to a social enterprise blog and space for a project profile with photographs, the website reports.
First launched on March 4th, UnLtdWorld has already attracted over 1,600 active users, with an average 4,000 page views per day.
