UK recruiters see growing demand for IT contractors
Posted on 28 January 2008
UK-based specialist recruiter Concept IT has boosted its contractor division with the appointment of a new senior contract consultant.
With more and more IT professionals seeking temporary and contract employment on a regular basis, Michelle O'Rourke will be sourcing and supplying highly skilled and experienced contractors nationwide.
IT contractors in particular can benefit from having the skills and flexibility to work across a broad range of sectors and within required timeframes throughout the year.
Chris Short, managing director of Concept IT, commented: "Due to the current high demand for IT expertise across the country it is vital that we provide the highest quality of contractors available.
"This is not only important for companies looking for short-term IT expertise, but also for organisations that require IT knowledge immediately, yet are struggling to find the right IT professional to employ."
According to Mr Short, an engineer servicing the office equipment market with good customer service skills can expect to earn on average 20 per cent more than a contractor without advanced customer service training.
