Award Season
Posted on 16 November 2007
We recently (and for the second time) won the Association of Technology Staffing Companies (ATSCo) Award for Services to the Recruitment Industry. This is an independent assessment of what a business has done in helping to support the industry and, in particular, in supporting Recruitment businesses. We were very happy to receive our award of course but I always think that awards are recognition for the whole team effort. Whether that’s an individual or company-wide award, the team at Parasol has always contributed.
I’m not sure if it is ok in the UK to shout too loudly about relevant success but I believe in our people being recognised, this is especially important when you provide a centralised service. I know plenty of people say it but I know I mean it when I say that the team here do care about Contractors and do understand the importance of getting the job done quickly and accurately. We have built a successful business on this basis and we are doing even more to promote that.
I also believe that the Parasol team enjoy their working life here in Warrington and London; we have just recently been re-accredited as an Investor in People and have also won the “Sunday Times Best Small Company to Work For” award this year. It’s often a pressurised environment due to the nature of our time sensitive work, but if you can’t have fun and don’t enjoy your work then surely it’s not worth it?
I also remain convinced that when I started contracting it gave me more security and control than I ever had as an “employee”. Contracting gave me opportunity and a better lifestyle; we aim to support that for our own Contractors.
